Halloween Mask 2

Halloween Mask 2

In this Halloween mask, I was inspired by a butterfly I saw in Icaret in Cancun, Mexico. It was one of the large beautiful exotic butterflies. And when halloween came around, I decided why not use it as inspiration.

I've chose to use a blue and purple color scheme, with an emphasis on purples. Okay, fine a BIG emphasis on purple. I wanted to draw in some of the veins to make it a bit more realistic...kind of have that gore without being outright scary.

Sidenote: I wrapped a purple shirt over my head so it could drape like a veil. My headband was a stretch out bracelet and sewed into the ends of the purple shirt. I wasn't originally thinking of transforming the look into a butterfly queen, but just did.

Halloween Rainbow Mask

Halloween Rainbow Mask

A halloween look inspired by mayan culture. I decided to make it vivid by using the rainbow scheme to really bring out the design. At the time, I would have loved to put in gems, but now looking at it...I think it's just right.

Sidenote: The feather band is actually a dream catcher one of my best friend gave me. I decided to put the ends to the roots of my hair. Now lips, I did not want a nude. It's halloween, so you want to go bold. The color I pick was a mesh of two reds. No lipgloss since it would be a little too much.

It was absolutely wonderful to design the mask on my face and put in the color.
